What happened to Adventure playgrounds?

I'm sure it was the result of a lawsuit,
I'll bet a middle class parent wanted their child to experience some culture and took their child to the adventure playground,
I'll put money down that this kid fell from the 30ft high monkey bars and broke a leg,
and I'm ready to argue that the government was sued for letting our kids play in 'playgrounds' which were probably built to control the population density of this country.

The government being sued for the use of playgrounds is probably the real reason for the recession, which is more likely than the story about magic mortgages in America.

I remember the adventure playground like a distant memory, I believe I was still young when they became almost hunted to extinction by property developers who turned the sites where boys became men and girls patrolled the tall wooden obstacle courses of death for future breeding partners.

Adventure playgrounds tested you they made you feel alive, separated the brave from the weak, it gave you a reason to be mindful of heights and it instilled a sense of fear in you, that you will not get from todays equivalent, there were no safety nets, instead there would be an adolescent with a first aid kit  a few bandages and some TCP, Ah TCP the staple of any medical unit in the 90s.

Nowadays we don't have no such thing, just a slide , monkeys bars so low that your feet touch the ground, preventing you from even trying to carry yourself across, I think even roundabouts have been outlawed probably as a result of another court case and they've got there eyes on the swing too, dread to think of someone falling off, nothing wrong with breaking a leg I think it builds characters, I don't see enough kids in crutches these days, I remember I needed crutches because I fell of something but nowadays there is nothing to fall off, you can't fall off a Playstation now can you?

I'm starting to turn into an old man, telling you how kids nowadays don't play out enough but I don't have enough time to talk about that, I'm about to play some Call of Duty myself on the Xbox

anyway I want to know where all the adventure playgrounds are gone, I have my theories, but I do know that if you stick an adventure playground in a few towns and you will watch obesity drop in a generation.

When I get some money , I'll get some of my polish buddies, run down to  B&Q get some wood and build our own playground.

Peace
